Journals:
"McSweeney's," a quarterly literary journal edited by Timothy McSweeney and printed in Iceland; $28 for one year subscription. This collection of eclectic essays is brought to us by one of the former editors of Might magazine. I laughed out loud while reading from this somewhat chaotic mix: there are screenplays and lectures and modern short stories. The cover is printed with sentences like the following: Our New Motto: Have Pity & If Words Are To Be Used As Design Elements, Then Let Designers Write Them. This kind of journal is very hard to describe, so I would just recommend trying to find it at your local independent bookstore.
